PD (Power Delivery) is a fast charging protocol. Power adapters or chargers that support this protocol are called PD power adapters or PD chargers, with a Type-C connector as the output interface. The output of a PD charger with Type-C output interface is different from the common USB-A interface output. However, the presence of a Type-C output interface does not necessarily indicate that the charger supports PD charging protocol. But for a charger that supports the PD protocol, it must have a Type-C output interface.
PD chargers can use USB cables and Type-C connectors to increase power delivery and expand the bus power capacity of the USB cable in the application. They can achieve higher voltage and current, with a maximum power delivery of 100 watts. During the charging process, devices can send dynamic request messages to request changes of output voltage and current from the charger, thus achieving fast charging.
PD chargers are widely used in smartphones, digital cameras, and tablets. With the development of fast charging technology, PD fast charging has become an industry trend. Nowadays, fast charging has become standard in many of the flagship smartphones, directly affecting the end-user experience. Smart handheld devices equipped with fast charging technology are becoming increasingly popular, and many phone brands’ budget phones are also equipped with fast charging technology, which allows more users to experience the charm of fast charging.
APS has now launched a series of PD fast charging power adapters with 30W-45W-65W-100W, welcome to call for inquiry.
